New Metakaolin-Based Geopolymers with the Addition of Different Types of Waste Stone Powder

The search for new alternative raw materials and their subsequent use supports the sustainability of natural resources. This article describes waste stone powder (WSP) in geopolymer synthesis. Five different types WSP (feldspar, limestone, marlstone, dolomite, marble) were comprehensively characterized influence on resulting properties (especially mechanical textural properties, setting time structure) metakaolin-based composites was investigated. Their comparison with a composite containing only quartz sand has revealed that additions have small but positive effect or geopolymers. Moreover, measurements shown powders can be used as an accelerator reaction solidification. results demonstrated mentioned WSP, previously landfilled, preparation help reduce environmental burden.
